Jay Sherman is a passionate advocate for multicultural awareness and understanding, shaped by his upbringing with Jewish and Catholic parents from the South and Mid-Atlantic. Moving frequently across the United States, he developed a lifelong ability to connect with diverse communities and navigate cultural differences.
Jay’s professional career has further enriched his cultural understanding. With over 20 years of experience in hospitality technology and leadership, he has worked with individuals and teams across numerous countries, including over 40 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania, giving him a broad perspective on how cultural differences influence collaboration, communication, and leadership in diverse teams.
Jay and his Malaysian Indian wife have lived abroad for over 14 years in Singapore and Germany, blending their cultural heritage with the traditions of the communities they have joined. Their time abroad has led them to adopt and celebrate diverse customs, such as Lunar New Year and treats from St. Nikolaus to name a few. These experiences reflect Jay’s commitment to fostering understanding and inclusion, both personally and professionally.
Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Kentucky.
